If you haven’t had any relationship with a female in your life then let me first explain the anatomy of a female. Our sex organ or the reproductive system is made of the uterus, Fallopian tubes, and ovaries where egg cells are produced. The cycle is stimulated by hormones that change every 21 days or so. Now, hormones affect our moods for both males and females. There are many types of hormones, like growth hormones, that make teenagers annoying.  Hormones make women cry easier, that is a fact.

Women also cry more because they are more empathetic to things around them. According to Livescience.com “…overall, men and women cry over the same things, like the death of a loved one, romantic breakups, and homesickness. Women may cry moreover smaller events, like a fight or computer crash, but, “remarkably, men cry relatively more often in reaction to positive events.” However, part of it is society’s fault why women cry more. We are the target and expose to media more often being emotional more than men are.

Women are not taught to have emotional control as a child compared to men. Isn’t it funny that with all the hormones enraging women’s bodies every month, we don’t teach them to understand their bodies and have control and ownership over it more. Have you ever avoided a female friend when you know they are PMSing or on their period because you know there is a chance of arguments or irrational behavior? We need to start teaching girls to meditate and be more understanding of their bodies so we can avoid them blaming their bodies and be victimized by them. I mean, it is no doubt, why we all have body image issues; we need to know more about the science of the female body.

On the other hand, female leaders, CEO, and bosses are never caught emotional and that is because these women are well trained to “control” (not hide) their emotions better. In a place of authority, they have to learn how to assert dominance and respect and therefore they unlike most women seem less emotional.

Our female body is a miracle worker awaiting to make life and give life. We need to learn how to love it and protect it in order to take better care of it. I was always the emotional type and I use to get angry when my husband calls me out for my shit but I start to understand it. It usually happens when I’m on my period. Other than that, I am on top of my game and I am not as emotional.

You have to understand that we all have emotions and we all express them differently. Men show emotion too by being angry, sulking, even being quiet is an emotion it means you are deep in thoughts or you are sad. Just like Malcom Gladwell explained in ‘Talking to Strangers’ our facial expression doesn’t always match what we feel. One can be extremely excited but look calm while their mind is bursting. You cannot always trust tears and smiles. We are not that good of an actor and our expressions and our feelings don’t always match.

Do not always trust the media and while we can start allowing men to be more emotional, we can teach women to have better control as well. The world is never an either-or situation but a compilation of ands.
