If you’ve listened to the song “Younger Now” then you know what I’m about to talk about…
You will always hear the phrase “she/he changed so much”! And I am always surprise to how surprised people are with change.
In my life, at just the age of 26, I have exceedingly changed in less than a year from a “let’s hit the club” girl to a domesticated “I want to do gardening, yoga and keeping up with the household chores” kind of girl. So, why are you surprise when you meet someone you haven’t seen for a while become a different person?
Now change in becoming more mature is a good change. Changing backwards… is questionable. But you shouldn’t be surprise that people change, you SHOULD, however, be alarmed if YOU haven’t changed at all. It means that you haven’t grown or evolved. Going backwards isn’t change, its regressing.
Life is happening right in front of your eyes. People around you are shifting in their position and in life and if you are stagnant then there’s a chance that you would feel left behind.
Getting older and maturing also makes me feel younger and more energetic. Maybe it is because I’m not as hungover all the time and I have so many hours to do many things that I would want to discover and explore.
Don’t get me wrong, I still enjoy some wine and dancing the night away but knowing how to plan my night gives me reassurance that I will still have my day tomorrow and not waste it on being hungover.
PEOPLE CHANGE. PEOPLE MOVE ON. LIFE GOES ON.
If you ever feel stuck or that life doesn’t feel like what you imagined it to be then its time to shift gears and steer yourself into a new direction. It’s never too late.
A wise person once said, life can be short but if you are lucky, life can be very long and you will have regrets but hopefully enough time to change. It’s never too late to change your mind, change your attitude or change your way of thinking.
With technology, new ideas and developments all around, how can you not change?
