It is the most annoying thing ever, to have breakouts. You sometimes know why it happened but most of the time it’s a guessing game.

There are so many different reasons why your skin is reacting the way it did and it really ruins the mood. It makes you cranky cause, rightfully so, it is one of the physical symptoms of what is hurting your body. So, I never take a pimple lightly. It might be because I am vain and I like to look good but I also believe that if you are healthy and you feel good, it should show on your skin. So if it doesn’t then there’s something wrong and I like to deal with it from the source.

Now, before things even get to the skin, they work their way through the body. This means that even before your pimple came out or sometimes, in my case, my dermatitis comes back, it’s almost always from what I’ve consumed in the last few days.

Although, sometimes it’s just HORMONES. And if you care about your body enough to keep tabs and know how your body reacts then you know if it’s just hormones or something else. For me, the telling sign is that if it’s hormones the pimples go away pretty quickly.

If it is not then it becomes trickier to spot why you are having breakouts. Sometimes it is the weather, so be mindful of your environment. Maybe you need a little dusting at home or you’ve changed you’re detergent and it’s making you irritated. We are allergic to many things, especially when they have chemicals in them. Make sure you do a bit of investigation to find the source of your reaction. Pimples can also be a type of allergic reaction like contact dermatitis.

You really have to play doctor and makeup theories to find out what you are allergic to. Even if you did the patch test, we have a mild allergic reaction to things that might not be deadly but still has an effect on us over time. It doesn’t mean we have to eliminate it but we can control the factors a bit better after knowing.

For example, I figured out that dairy gives me breakouts. Milk and cheese are some of the saddest things I have to give up but not entirely. Because PIZZA! But I’ve switched from cow’s milk to goat’s milk and that worked really well personally and sometimes goat cheese but occasionally, I do have cheat days. However, I almost always know the next day I was going to get a pimple or two or some itching. But PIZZA!

It does take a lot of effort to figure out your body. We eat so many different things a day and because the reaction isn’t instant, you have to work backward and see where it went wrong.

Having a skincare routine is also important. When you introduce new things into your regime, it is easier to pinpoint where they went wrong. Over-the-counter products sometimes help but it doesn’t prevent your breakouts. They are medicinal which means it only cures. Don’t you rather not have it in the first place? And if you know why you get them then it would be easier to deal with it.

In the end, we have to be mindful of what we do because it affects us more than we think. Your body really is your temple. Take care of it well…
