There are pros and cons in everything like yin and yang. Social media is a great place to connect to people you’ve lost touch with because of distance or keep a closer look on the people you are interested in. However, there’s the down side of it when people take advantage of social media. These are the types of personality of people who uses social media we all encountered once or twice and some of them, hopefully, not more.

The Expressionist.
The one who does spoken words. These people put up one of the most confusing statuses, making their friends wonder about their well-being, situation or simply “what the heck is going on”. The most annoying part is that they disappear after posting it and never reply to your comment. #sorryicared

The philosophers.
You appreciate good quotes and life lessons from strangers but when you are reminded every day of the world falling apart, of life and death and everything in between… let’s just say, that’s too much sometimes. Not that I’m an optimist but being ignorant for a short 1 hour online would be very much appreciated.

The journalist.
Nope. I don’t mean the ones that actually have a job in that field but those that resort to social media as their diary. Today, I met a boy. Today, I had breakfast. Today, I went for a walk. Please, stop or today will be your last day. And for some reasons, these people find their way to fill up your news feed with their post. #unfriend

The Experts.
There are smart people and then there are not so smart people who act like they know-it-all. If anything these people give you a good laugh, pretending like they know shit but when in fact they know jack shit. Not only are they opinionated, they think they are the best. Its ok guys, we keep them around for entertainment.

The Whiners.
Worst type of online personality. These people can complain about everything and anything. Level of the situation might be a 2 but they would whine about it as if it were level 10. It seemed like nothing good is going on in their lives which is probably why they are the way they are online. #sadtruth

The Happy-go lucky.
This might be the only best online type of personality so far. They are ones to inspire, encourage and post only kind words and nice things that happen around them. Don’t you feel much lighter and happier just by reading their feeds. Although they might not get the most likes but they definitely made some people smile through the flat screen.

The Barbie Doll.
Let’s not end in a high note. This last but not least online type are the plastic fakers. They lie about their age, their pictures are all filtered up and in real life you might still haven’t seen their natural face. These dolls cannot distinguish the real world to the imaginary world and all we can do is pray for their better days.

Obviously there are so much more to mention but which type of online personality are you? Are you abusing online media? Are you sharing too much? I wish there was a new term for “keep it in your pants” that would refer to online sharing. Either ways, your close friends would love to keep tabs on you but the rest wouldn’t mind if you became invisible just for some times. Be happy and share good things. You only receive more of what you give out!
