If you can’t afford therapy, I recommend you to grab a self help book or grab whatever book that calls for you. I believe that only those who read can quickly evolve in life. It doesn’t mean that because you hate reading that you won’t evolve, it might just take you longer than it could.
See reading allows you to imagine things and because human are self-conscious beings, as we read we automatically reflect back to our experiences and understandings. When we read love stories, we imagine to be someone of that character to have found love. When we read something more difficult like the news, we imagine scenarios and that scares us.
We all have some sort of issues we are dealing with and I understand if talking about it to strangers or even love ones feels to threatening or shameful. Turning to book’s the only way you can learn from other peoples mistake or find out new ways to deal with things. There are endless, endless amount of books out there. People write and share their stories for a reason and that is because at the end of our life, we all go through the same kind of crap. We might come out of it differently but it always takes a new way of thinking.
If you don’t like asking for help then take control of your damn issues by grabbing yourself a self-help book. How to be a good boss? How to be a good partner? How to be a good parent? You name it, there’s a book out there!
Nothing is more upsetting than complaining or knowing an issue and letting it infest and one day waking up and wondering how shit hit the fan. Well, the screw has been loose and finally it couldn’t hold the fan together anymore. THAT’S HOW!
Remember, no one can help someone who does not want help. So be brave and help yourself first by admitting that you need help and allow yourself to get all the help you could!
